The company, initially known as Cell Point (India) Private Limited, was incorporated on April 10, 2013, under the Companies Act, 1956. The company changed its name to “Cell Point (India) Limited” under The Companies Act, 2013. This name change was approved by the shareholders through a special resolution at an Extraordinary General Meeting held on October 31, 2022.
The company’s promoters, Mr. Mohan Prasad Panday and Mr. Bala Balaji Panday started their journey as small mobile retailers in Vizag, Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh in 2001. To stay competitive in the mobile retail business, the promoters established “Cell Point (India) Private Limited” in 2013. They took over the existing businesses of their proprietary concerns, namely, M/s. Cell Point and M/s. Mobile King, is a going concern. They incorporated all the respective assets and liabilities into the company. Presently, the company operates under the brand names Cell Point and Mobile King, with the tagline “All your mobile needs, the only one point is Cell Point.” It offers a wide range of mobile handsets, mobile accessories, and mobile-related products.
Cell Point (India) is primarily involved in the multi-brand retail deal of smartphones, tablets, mobile accessories, and related products. It delivers products from many brands, including Apple, Samsung, Oppo, Realme, Nokia, Vivo, Xiaomi, Redmi, Techno, One Plus, GIONEE, and VIVO.
company also sells some consumer durable electronics goods, especially smart televisions from brands such as Xiaomi, Realme, and One Plus. The company runs a chain of 75 retail stores located throughout Andhra Pradesh, where all its products are available under one roof.
Cell-Point provides many payment options to its customers which include credit/EMI facilities, UPI, vouchers, and pay-on-delivery. To facilitate these options, the company has partnered with major credit houses like Bajaj Finserv, Capital First, and TVS Credit Finance. The products sold by the company come with a limited warranty from the respective supplier companies. In case of defects, the company typically receives free replacements or services from the supplier companies.
